POSE FOR A BILLIONAIRE

BY LUCEE LOVETT

MEET LUCEE

BIO

Lucee Lovett, is a mother of four—five if you include her husband. She grew up in a pretty rough neighbourhood in London. She been told she has a smoky, sexy laugh and voice. If you heard it, you’d want to read her stories.

She has always been a storyteller. Her stories would captivate the hearts and minds of willing listeners, both young and old alike. Her love for romance was born from sneaking off to read her mother’s Mills and Boon books. It led her to make stories short enough for busy people who don’t have time for a lengthy romance fix, and want their romantic fantasies in short satisfying doses.

Although her desire was to write and share what she was writing, Lucee put off this desire due to her learning disability. Then 50 Shades was released… Make of that what you will...

She has an equal love for the paranormal and is a diehard Steven King fan. Lucee has no trouble meshing the two genres. Although to date most of her stories have an urban, coming of age, contemporary feel to them. She has a number of paranormal WIP’s on the back burner.

She loves animals and has both a dog named Blue and cat called Naila.

BLURB

Mia, a twenty-two year old high school dropout is left to raise her eight-year-old brother. She has no job, no money and very few options.

Forced to use the only asset she has—she poses nude for enigmatic, enticing, billionaire, Roman Evans. Roman makes no secret that he’s attracted to Mia. He eventually persuades her to go out with him.

The morning after their date, Mia is threatened by the landlord’s son with eviction. Either she pays her rent in full or gets out. Witnessing the exchange, Roman offers to help. In a stand for independence, Mia rudely refuses his offer.

Later she accepts a shady proposition from her ex-boyfriend Farrell. A course of action she regrets, but she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place.

In an attempt to forget her troubles, she goes on a dream date with Roman. Only to return to a ransacked apartment, threats and insults from Farrell.
Just when she thinks things couldn’t get any worst—they do.

She now has to pray the man whose aid she’d so coldly refused, cares enough to come to her rescue.

MEET KIA

Kia Carrington-Russell is a young author writing from her Australian home. Kia is supported by her helpful friends, family and readers. Most of all she is assisted by her Ying and Yang kitties, Isa and Forest, as well as her Cavoodle, Sia, who are always by her side as she busily types away in her office.

Kia completed her first manuscript, Possession Of My Soul: The Three Immortal Blades, when she was fifteen. After graduating from high school, Kia pursued freelance journalism. After working for half a year within the sales section of the local paper, Kia realised journalism was not what she wanted to focus on.

Kia started Ther Precious Living website, which is a self-help blog publishing weekly affirmations. It was a way to express her enjoyment of photography as well as reaching out to readers who might not be feeling positive in their current lifestyles. She often published motivational stories, hoping to fill many with gratitude for what they had, instead of focusing on what they didn't.

In the year of 2014, Kia took her first manuscript seriously, and on May 15, Kia's first book was published. Since then Kia has continued writing and publishing many works from the Fantasy, Young Adult, Romance, and Action genres. Kia has many more books planned for the future.

In 2015, Kia's self-publishing services and promotional services became live. She is now CEO of both Crystal Publishing and Crystal Book Promoters, which have been designed to help other authors at an affordable price. The mission is to guide writers through the perilous journey of self-publication.

Kia enjoys dancing, cooking, painting, manga, anime, eating (loves eating), reading, and is very competitive in all games, no matter what game.

From Kia:

Thank you to all my friends, family, and readers who have supported me. You have no idea how much it truly means to me; the support inspires me to keep writing. I am very grateful for the kind words you offer me and for telling others of my books.

Thank you everyone so much,

Kia

EXCERPT

The sun’s light dimmed many centuries before; now in the year of 2,341 rampant vampires now stalk their victims in a half-lit world. Humanity has been overtaken by a new society: one comprised of vampires, the supernatural beings that hunt them, and the remaining humans they fight over. The laws and rules that once bound our world have long since been lost. Now, the Hunter Guild struggle to stay one step ahead of the Vampire Council.

Esmore, Token Huntress, has exceeded all expectations at only 18 years of age. She is fearless leader to her team, and she is relentless in her pursuit of the enemy. There is only one problem: Esmore is struggling to repress the growing darkness that seduces her from within. Esmore takes another step into the darkness when she encounters a teasing, tantalizing -- utterly unignorable -- vampire.

The lines between right and wrong are blurred further as Esmore gives into her temptation, and her reality becomes deliciously tainted both with evil and with lust.

PROLOGUE

Even when I conjured all my strength, his speed was unmatched. He grabbed my sword with his hands, blood spurting everywhere, his eyes now savage on me. In one swift movement he threw it away, grabbing my throat, ready to rip out my heart. His fangs were very large and blood dripped over them. Had he bitten into one of his own comrades? I could not breathe, but I did not gasp for air. I would not fall so far as to want mercy from his kind.

Before he plunged his fingers into me a hand stopped him. My heart pounded, yet I was not scared to face death. A swift movement was made and I fell to the floor, holding my throat. Whoever had grabbed his hand tore him away from me. I looked up in front of me to see the familiar coat. It was Chase. His back was to me as he faced the vampire who had almost killed me. Did the Council really have such old and strong vampires right under our noses?

“Don’t touch her. She’s mine,” Chase snarled, holding two swords.

“She threatened Whitney!” the other vampire spluttered.

“Tythian.” The small voice of the woman from behind him broke the tension. “It’s okay, we can go now.”

He buckled to his knees in front of her, cupping her face gently. “I’m sorry,” he whispered to her. “I did not know they would use you for this.” She gently caressed his face. In amidst the ghastly noises of weapons scraping against one another, it seemed to them that nothing else mattered as they gazed into one another’s eyes devotedly.

“Let’s go home,” she said with a reassuring smile. I was mortified how comfortable she was in the blood war that raged around her.

Before I could stand, the vampire had grabbed her chair and, with lightning speed, they were gone.

Chase turned to me, his fangs not as large as Tythian’s, but I could see he too was a very old vampire. “Esmore,” he whispered. Before I could run for my sword to use it against him, he had already vanished, leaving me by myself.

Kora and Kasey were the reason why he fled. They had advanced on him, trying to entrap him. For what reason he hadn’t tried to kill them I wasn’t sure. He simply hid amongst the dark. I could still feel his presence close by, but it felt as if he were only watching. Not fighting, but just watching how everything would play out. Realizing Chase was gone, they focused on another three vampires, entrapping them as Dillian and Tori covered their backs. One by one, the girls trapped more. There were so many of them.

Teary was fighting off four. Except for Tythian and Chase, they all seemed like younger vampires. You could tell by their strength and speed. Usually we could challenge vampires if they were no more than one hundred and fifty years old. After that it became very difficult to compete against a vampire who had lived for so long.

James was now by my side. He had gathered my Barnett bow and sword for me. I used my arrows instantly on a vampire who ran for me, piercing his chest. He crumbled to the ground, quickly decaying. I roared in anger at how easily I had been overcome by the previous two vampires. I sliced through another vampire, cutting down his throat and through his belly. I cut across another’s head, slitting their throat and puncturing their chest. I raged again, feeling myself fill with hatred and a need to see their blood. I cut off one’s arm, plunging my sword into its chest, driving so deep into it that after a few steps I had nailed it to a tree. It slumped around my sword, its skin turning a shade of black. I pulled it out, watching it begin to decay.

A huge fire lit behind me. Teary was controlling the flames, sweeping over the ten of them that encircled her. There must have been one hundred vampires. This was a well-thought out ambush. James grabbed one vampire’s throat and then another as it ran from behind him. Smashing both their heads together, they shattered from the impact. James steely skin was impenetrable. He grabbed his sword from the ground. A vampire must have knocked it out of his hand. He punctured both in the chest before they could heal.

In the distance I could feel the presence of many more coming. For that many we would have to use the grenade. It was us against many. As if knowing what I was thinking, James ran to Teary as she continued to sweep her hand containing the fire around.

In the distance a vampire stalked toward Teary. He too was strong and old. I had the feeling that others followed him as their numbers grew. James now had the grenade, and he was pulling the pin. Inwardly I counted the short seconds in my head. Ten, nine. Teary continued to control her flames, still engulfing the many around her. Eight, seven. Two vampires came at me and quickly I thrust my sword into them, before shooting an arrow into another oncoming vampire. Six, five. James threw the grenade at the large army that stampeded toward us.

The leading vampire swept one hand across them both. Teary’s flames were instantly put out as a gust of wind extinguished it. The wind not only pushed James and Teary back but Dillian, Tori, Kasey, and Kora as it smashed into their backs, throwing them forward. It had even taken the Council vampires along with it. This vampire had the gift of control over wind. The grenade was thrown toward my team.

Four, three.

With all the speed I could muster I ran for them, grabbing a hold of the grenade in the air. I ran into the distance so the grenade was nowhere near them, throwing it at the army that charged toward them.

Two, One.

The grenade exploded near the army, but shattered much more than just that. Quickly a burst of dust swept over me. The burning flames of the explosion encased my body. I heard my name whispered by an angelic voice, but noted it was probably the afterlife calling for me. This must now be my time of death.

INTERVIEW

What in your life influenced you to be a writer?

I have always loved writing. I think it was the joy to express everything I felt, I wrote a lot of poetry in high school as well. I had a lot of support from my family in doing this and starting my first book. Looking back then I had no idea how far I would come to now. And what influences me most is the support but from a much larger audience now, but always and foremost those who helped pushed me over the edge at first.

Why did you choose the genre you write?

Fantasy is something I have always loved watching and reading. I also love how limitless it is, the only thing that can bring me down is my lack of imagination (which I don’t think is anything I have to fear in my lifetime hehe)
Do you like background noise when you write or silence?

I went through a faze where I listened to lounge music. Nothing with words or singing in it, but now I prefer silence. I get distracted to easily. However if I am doing other things for my book, such as promoting, Author Takeovers, creating graphics etc I always have something upbeat on.

Do you have a special place you go to write?

My special place is my office. It has all my paintings my fantasy ornaments, my book collection, just all of me.
Can you share something extra that you want the viewers to know?

How much your support really means to me. I doubt myself a lot, I wish I were confident all the time in my work, but I always have my doubts and insecurities, so one small message from a reader, telling me how much they love my stories and characters really brightens my day.
Is there a certain mind frame you have to be in to write?

Yes and no. At most times I can sit down and right until my brain tires and I find myself restless. But usually I can sit down from about four to six hours writing. I do however have the days where I will avoid it, only because my mind is growling at me. I know on these day’s I am tired. I’ve learnt to not push the matter because it would take me twice as long to write and I will find excuses and chores around the house to do in between I distract myself very well at times.
How do you come up with your characters?

Usually at the start of every book concept, I already have a skeleton of who my characters are and I focus on their faults because that is what makes them individual. However, usually by the end of the book they turn into their own person. I love this the most.

How do you come up with the different plot twists?

To be honest, I have far too many. At first it was by small segments of dreams and then pondering on those for a few hours, after a few hours or days I have a complete story outline. I now find myself day dreaming, and within a few minutes I have concepts and ideas of new books and characters. I just can’t keep up with my overactive brain.
Who is your favorite character from your books?

I absolutely love Scott from Possession Of My Heart. His character is so inconsistent, playful but very dark and powerful at the same time. I have also recently fallen in love with my Huntress, Esmore in my new book Token Huntress. I love her character now of strength, courage, military like ways, but I know what is to come for her and I am very excited to slowly reveal that darkness. She will be my favourite to write as even I don’t know if I want to twist her into darkness or light.
Which one of your characters do you relate to most?

I think a small part of me is in all my characters. In Clover, from My Escort I can see both of us as extremely hard workers. In Sia, from Phantom Wolf I can see my strength in defending and protecting others. In Esmore, her ability to think quickly and objectively. Karla, being a confused teenager questioning where life might take her; and Sia from Sia, with her insecurities of not being woman enough and sensitive towards the death of living creatures. I think all of these things are traits within myself. So I don’t know which one I would relate to the most.

What is your inspiration and muse?

My inspiration is other authors who work hard and achieve, or even any other person in their field. And my fans and readers, who support me. I wouldn’t be able to do it without them, so they inspire me to continue this journey.

Who is your favorite author and why?

I love Kristen Cashore’s work. Because she focuses on feminism and empowers. Women her heroines are self efficient clever, strong and powerful beings. I loved that.
What authors have inspired you to write and why?

Most likely Kristen Cashore, Cassandra Clare and Issobelle Carmody. I just love their individual style and books.

When did you first start writing?

I started writing at fifteen years old in high school. I then studied for journalism and began writing self help x affirmations on my website Precious Living. I didn’t take my writing career of fiction books seriously until 2014 at twenty years of age.

What inspired you to write?

I think mostly because I fell in love at the time, I was a teenager with Cassandra Clare’s books. It was when I first found an appreciation for Young Adult books. But it was also a way to express myself and be something more than an average student. It was my own secret way of being something awesome, I mean it’s not like I had the chance to be a vampire or something haha.

Who are some of your biggest influences? John Boy Walton and Stephen King.

Kristen Cashore, Issobelle Carmody and Cassandra Clare.

Is there a special place you go and a certain mind frame you like to be in before you write?

What's the most exciting thing that happened to you during your writing career?

There really are so many. I have had so many wonderful things happen. I think the ones that surprise me the most. I had one girl come into where I work who was purchasing my latest book, I told her I could sign it. She was so excited and ran out to get her ipad so she could get a photo with me. She had read all my other books and loved them. Within that week I was on YouTube and found a fan based trailer on Phantom Wolf, I almost cried watching it. I have had a few parents tell me how much their child has loved my books. It really touches me when they are things I least expect, but make my whole week.
How do you come up with all the characters and different exciting plots?

Usually at the start of every book concept, I already have a skeleton of who my characters are and I focus on their faults because that is what makes them individual. However, usually by the end of the book they turn into their own person. I love this the most. To be honest, I have far too many concepts and plots. At first it was by small segments of dreams and then pondering on those for a few hours, after a few hours or days I have a complete story outline. I now find myself day dreaming, and within a few minutes I have concepts and ideas of new books and characters. I just can’t keep up with my overactive brain.

What authors have inspired you through your writing and how did they inspire you?

Most likely Kristen Cashore, Cassandra Clare and Issobelle Carmody. I just love their individual style and books.
Do you have advice for any writer who's struggling right now?

That it is tough and you are probably doubting yourself right now. But you shouldn’t. Already what you have achieved is an amazing thing. And not everyone can do it. You are courageous for sharing your book, you’ve achieved a lot for taking the time to sit down and write a book. And you are an inspiration to those who soon want to write a book. Don’t give up, maybe have a small break because we all get tired. But don’t give up. You’re amazing.
What's the silliest thing that you have ever experienced in your writing career?

Umm probably the interesting expressions I have on my face as I write. I try to channel my characters as if I were them. I even cried writing Phantom Wolf. My partner often walks past my study asking me what is wrong with my face. I must pull some ugly faces haha

Could you share something extra that you would like your viewers to know about you are your writing?

How much your support really means to me. I doubt myself a lot, I wish I were confident all the time in my work, but I always have my doubts and insecurities, so one small message from a reader, telling me how much they love my stories and characters really brightens my day.

Extra things your fans would like to know

Your favorite song?

I have a lot of songs I love. But one that sticks to me is Misguided Ghosts by Paramore. I think as a teenager I really connected with this because I always felt a little different. I listened to it religiously especially in my sadder times.

Your favorite food?

I love everything. Probably ice-cream. But my favourite dinner is spaghetti bolognaise.

Your favorite book?

Fire by Kristen Cashore.

Your favorite movie?

Oh that is a hard one hmmm I would have to say the Underworld series.

Who was your loved one that has been your inspiration through your success?

Both my partner, Scott and best friend, Keeley.

Who has been their that work with you that you truly have been inspired by or pushed by to succeed?

A lot of people. I am often told by my close loved ones I need to take a break and rest haha But I continue to work hard. My Pa, Julia and Street Team as well has been a huge help. It’s been almost a year now since I’ve been published and I just can’t handle it all on my own anymore. They have been very inspiring to me and have helped me along the way this year. It’s reassuring to know I have them standing beside me every step I take. And I have some amazing people to meet when I get to America. Thank you everyone x

SYNOPSIS:

It’s not always easy to differentiate between the good guys and the bad guys, especially when a trained killer may be falling in love with her evil hunter… Emma Hayes, a former military Special Forces Operative turned mercenary-for-hire, finds her tightly controlled world turned upside down when she becomes the target of attacks by powerful supernatural creatures. Emma must use every skill in her arsenal to stay alive as she tries to solve the mystery of why she has been targeted. Her list of enemies keeps growing - from Zane Shayde, an evil Mage, to a secret branch of the US government - and she doesn't know if there is anyone left she can trust. To complicate matters further, Emma is inexplicably drawn to Zane in a way she does not quite understand, even knowing her life is forfeit if captured. Who is he and why does he have this effect on her? How can she fight someone who calls to her, body and soul? Emma is left haunted by questions, doubts and fears as to why she has been targeted, when they will come for her next, and how she will possibly survive against an enemy she doesn't understand.

I body checked him so he stumbled through the doors, hitting the far wall of the elevator. I followed him in, keeping my gun pointed at his chest, then pressed the only button inside the elevator that would take us to the bottom of the shaft, fifteen stories below ground. The doors slid shut, and with a jerk, the elevator began moving. It was only when my prisoner began to change that I realized it might not have been the most brilliant idea in the world to cage myself into a small box suspended over open air with a complete stranger. I had once again forgotten I was potentially dealing with a supernatural enemy, and I shouldn’t have assumed my tail was only a normal human being. The man standing huddled in the corner straightened to his full height of only ’five-foot-ten, and his eyes began to glow a pale yellow. “I’m more of a lover than a fighter …” he said, his voice becoming deeper and rougher with every word. I heard the snapping of what I realized were his bones, and his skin bulged and rippled as if something living beneath it was trying to get out. His face elongated, and wickedly sharp teeth extended from what was quickly becoming a muzzle. “But I can dish out a pretty good disemboweling,” he completed in a growl before the transformation of his mouth prevented any further human speech. His clothes tore away as his limbs bulged and bent. He fell to all fours as course, gray hair sprouted over his entire body. Cold terror bled through my body, filling my veins with ice as I tried to remember all the rules I had seen in movies about taking down a werewolf. I had no way of knowing whether there was any truth to them, but it was all I had to go on. Unfortunately, the bullets in my gun were made of steel, not silver. He completed the transformation from man to wolf in a matter of seconds, although even before then, I had put three bullets into him. I continued to hold out hope that I could interrogate him; therefore, I didn’t aim for his head. Instead, I blew out his knee, trying to incapacitate him. I was surprised when the creature actually let out a yelp of pain as a spray of blood and cartilage hit the back wall of the elevator, and the wolf’s leg collapsed under it. He still had three good legs, though, and he lunged at me with snapping jaws. I got off another two shots, but they went wide, missing him as he barreled into me. I managed to keep hold of the weapon, but the wolf’s jaws clamped down on the gun. Unfortunately, the muzzle was not pointed into his mouth; thus, pulling the trigger would just put a bullet harmlessly into the wall of the elevator. I needed the gun though. I wasn’t about to let go of it. With my free hand, I punched the wolf square in the muzzle, raining repeated blows on its face, my hand going numb as my knuckles split and bled, but I kept hitting him. His eye was a bruised and swollen mess, and blood poured freely from his nose. When I felt his jaws loosening, I pushed past the pain in my hand and hammered him with one final fist to the nose, throwing my entire body weight behind it. He released me, and I brought up my gun, but he was changing again. Thinking he was shifting back into a man and conceding the fight, I held my fire. Instead, his muzzle sharpened and hardened into a point. His gray fur sprouted feathers, and his arms extended into broad wings that flapped wildly. His injured leg was less of an impediment now that he could fly. He lifted from the floor and dove straight for me. I ducked, instinctively raising my arms to protect my head and face. He hit the wall behind me yet recovered quickly and flew at me again. Staying low, I tried to get a bead on him with my gun, but he was moving too fast. The cramped elevator wasn’t large; however, this form made him quicker, more capable of tight turns, and gave him more room to maneuver since he could take advantage of the air space above my head. He launched at me with talons bared and sliced through my forearm as I shielded my eyes. The pain was sharp and intense, and blood flowed freely from the lacerations.

Exclusive:

How I fell in love with PNR ~By Dina Given When I was a kid, I don’t remember whether there were all of the sub-categories of Fantasy that we have today – Paranormal, Urban, Dark, Epic, etc. I just remember there being Fantasy, and I discovered it when I was about 10 years old. My mother went to the library and brought home for me A Spell for Chameleon by Piers Anthony. I was immediately hooked and never looked back. I voraciously devoured everything by authors such as Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks and Raymond E. Feist. I would draw massive maps of these fantastical worlds and hang them on my bedroom walls, alongside my sketches of mythical creatures. When I was in college, I even wrote my honors thesis on Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Then I entered corporate America, got married and had two kids, and my reading fell off significantly. A few years ago my sisters discovered the world of self-publishing and started a blog supporting independent romance authors. Romance wasn’t really my thing, but I wanted to be involved in the blog, so I gravitated toward PNR. I fell in love with Amy Bartol, Denise Grover Swank, Amelia Hutchins, Rebecca Ethington, Karina Halle, and others, and it re-sparked my love for the genre. It also renewed my life-long desire to try writing a novel myself. Thinking about the old adage of “write what you would want to read,” I developed an idea for a high-action urban fantasy novel influenced by Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files and Larry Correia’s Monster Hunters International. I wanted to write a book that played like a fast-paced movie with supernatural battles, car chases, monsters and magic, not to mention a dollop of steamy romance. I hope I succeeded in my goal of creating a high energy, page turner that you can’t put down. You be the judge…

Lawrence Gleadhill

I've had a few career changes already, but to me writing has always been something I enjoy doing. What started as a hobby I hope it becomes something more. My goal at the moment is to publish my books, hoping that someone picks them up and sees some potential in them. If they happen to sell well, that is a bonus. Most of my books have just sat on my computer for over a year, so I may as well try my luck.

I currently have more than seven franchises, all at various stages of completion. Some of which I am looking at publishing now and some I will wait until I am a more seasoned author. I mainly write sci-fi/fantasy/romance books. I am also currently working on a screenwriting project for a television series.

Outside of writing I enjoy listening to music, playing video games, fitness (natural bodybuilding), food and travelling.

                       Interview with Addison Moore

1) How did you come up with Celestra? What inspired you?

I had a young adult series about a group of kids that lived on an island, and I loved it but it was missing something. I also had a book about an angel who lives on earth and the name of that book was Ethereal. I married the two and beautiful Celestra babies were born. I’m much happier with the Celestra Series.

2) Out of Logan, Gage and Marshall, who would you choose?

Tough decision! I really can’t choose. I’m a Lomargage kinda girl.

3) When you aren’t writing, what do you like to do for fun?

I hang with the kids! I’m really family focused. I’m also big on reading. I love to lose myself in new story worlds.

4) How in the world do you keep up with it all?!?! (writing all these books, keeping up with your fans and always showing them you care (which you are amazing at), along everything else that comes with being an author, plus family, social life, etc…)?

I make time for family, sleep, and myself. Writing to me has always been something that I do because I love it. I write mostly at night but my goal for the new year is to flip that.

5) Is the Celestra series going to become a movie/TV series?

The option has expired but the series is currently being shopped again, so there’s always hope!

6) With your Celestra and Countenance series, did the storyline naturally grow to branch out into two series then back again, or did you plan it that way from the beginning?

Both! I’ve known the beginning and the end of the Celestra/Celestra Forever After series since its inception. The Counts clawed at my imagination right around the same time. I started working on Ephemeral soon after I started Ethereal. The books interweave after Wicked (Celestra Series Book 4).

7) Do you like to listen to music when you’re writing (if so, do you have a specific playlist) or do you prefer peace and quiet?

I can’t write without my muse-ic! But, that being said, I can’t actually write while listening to it either. Music motivates me in a way that nothing else can. I usually listen while cleaning, walking, driving. I have a play list for most of my books over on Spotify. My username is Addisonmoore, and I’m pretty sure it’s public. I listen to some goofy stuff.

8) When you are writing, do you hear the story in your head or do you have it outlined beforehand? What is your process?

Both! I have to have a brief idea of the beginning, middle, and end, but then I gladly let the characters off the leash and see how they fill in the blanks. I like to be surprised, too!

9) In a series, or writing in general, do you have the characters lined up beforehand or do they present themselves as you go?

I have to know who’s on the canvas. If I add characters, that means they’ve been in the works for a while and they have a purpose and a plan. It doesn’t have to be big, I just need to know who they are and what they add to the story.

10) Have you ever thought the story was going to go one way, only to have it go a totally different way?

Hmm.. not really. I once tried to pants a story without any idea of what was going to happen next and painted myself in a corner. I ended up with a book I couldn’t finish. I’ve learned from that experience, and now I usually have the basic underpinnings of the novel before I jump in. The rest is pretty organic.

11) Did you always aspire to be a writer? If not, what did you want to be when you were little? At what age did you realize you wanted to be a writer?

At about 5th grade I knew I wanted to write. I spent most of my days devouring books at the library and if I ever had any spending money that went straight to the bookstore. I still get a high from the scent of paperbacks.

12) What did you do before you became an author?

I like to tease people when I say I spent the entire Clinton administration on a locked psychiatric unit—well, actually I did—as a therapist. I ran the groups and taught life skills and coping mechanisms. Art anyone? Yeah, that was me, too. We also had pet therapy. Fun times. But the unit closed down, and I was out of a job.

13) Are there any male’s in particular that inspired the characters Logan, Gage and Marshall? (Especially Logan!)

Honestly, Logan has been around for quite sometime (5th grade! That was an eventful year apparently). I tried to dream up the perfect guy and thus Logan Oliver was born. Marshall is a sexed-up Logan offshoot (perhaps the grown up version? Ha!) And Gage is a real person. Did I just say that out loud?

14) Does your writing ever mimic your life?

Um, yes. Yes. And YES! I don’t need to look too far for material. Most of that gets relegated to Skyla.

15) Does anyone help you with the sarcasm and wit in your writing or does it come natural? Are you that way in real life?

My son would love for me to say him. I’m just sarcastic by nature. Believe me it’s a gift best utilized in books. In real life, my sharp tongue can go quite unappreciated. Shocking, I know!

16) What are you reading right now?

I’m reading Ten Tiny Breaths. I just finished The Book of Moses and You before Me.

17) Who’s your favorite author(s)? What’s your favorite book(s)?

I fell in LOVE with Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty! I still have a place in my heart for The Bell Jar by Slyvia Plath, though. I’ve read that countless times.

18) Which do you prefer writing more, steamy romance scenes or snarky back and forths?

I like to do both in my books. The snark just seems like the perfect touch of flirtation, lol! And I really love the steamy payoff, especially when I know my characters are dying for it.

19) If you could live in any one of your books, which would it be and why?

Why, Paragon of course! It would be a bit scary, but I hear there’s a Sector who might be extra friendly to a girl in need. Skyla better watch her back.

20) Out of all of your books, who is your absolute favorite character?

Yikes, just one? Hmm… I really love them all. It’s like trying pick a favorite child. I think if I could pick a group to go out to dinner with it would be my Paragon peeps.

21) Where did the idea for Burning Through Gravity originate?

Oh Stevie! My wicked, twisted, Stevie…how much do I love you? This book was steeped in what ifs. I wanted a character that was so hurt from her past that she was an emotional zombie. And Ford, what can I say about that piece of man-candy? Ford and Stevie were trouble from the first word I put down on the page, and I loved every minute of that psychotic ride. But, back to the question, I got the idea after reading a series of articles on company takeovers. I was fascinated and saddened by the damage they inflicted on just about everyone involved.

***Lightning round!***

What’s your favorite color? Lavender.

Favorite artist? Georgia O’ Keefe.

Favorite car? Range Rover (My hubby says never).

Favorite movie, actor/actress? I love Bill Murray! And I love Kate Hudson.

Favorite cartoon? Rugrats.

Favorite midnight snack? I’m such a foodie. Anything really, except bananas. I’m convinced they give me nightmares so never those. I eat one for breakfast every morning just to make up for it.

Addison is one of the most down to earth compassionate people. I know. I feel privileged to work with her daily. Not many people bleed the soul into my heart spilling into my soul but Addison's writing manages to do that. You dive in and lose all time and reality because its so life lie and smoothly flowing that it feels like you're actually there. Way to go Addison! My review will follow soon! Check out the Celestra Series you have to read them. They are awesome!!!

                    Duke in Devil's Clothing
                     By Author Nina Mason

Duke in Devil's Clothing is a highly erotic historical romance set in Scotland during the Restoration Period (1680). The book features voyeurism, bondage, flagellation, and a voyeur menage. It will be released in mid-January (I'm aiming for Saturday the 17th) and will be the first in a trilogy titled Royal Pains, which will feature the Duke and Duchess of Dunwoody.

Meet Maggie York

Blurb

Maggie York, a convent-raised foundling, knows the Duke of Dunwoody’s sexual tastes are a shade or two darker than normal, but marries him anyway—partly because she has no other prospects and partly because, try as she might, she can’t seem to exorcize her desire for the dashing devil.

Two years ago, a voyeuristic experience involving the duke lured her from the garden of innocence into the orchard of forbidden fruit, and she's been hungry for more ever since.

Meet the Duke

Robert Armstrong, the duke, is a Roman Catholic whose extreme devotions as a child warped his desires as a man. He’s also a slave to the times in which he lives--and to his king. Everything he is, everything he holds dear, depends on staying in Charles II’s good graces. Unfortunately, Maggie isn't the bride the king selected for him. Now, to make amends, the duke must choose between the lesser of two evils: whore his wife or be reduced to a penniless commoner.

Whose interests will Robert choose to serve, his own, the king’s, or the woman he loves?

Here's the tagline: Forbidden fruit is always the most delicious...

And here's the link to the 18+ trailer on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=js6w5vPC0NE

Here’s an excerpt from the Prologue:

Maggie York had not set out to be a spy.

She’d only come into the housekeeper’s closet to look for a bootlace. It had finally stopped raining and she was eager to escape the musty, smoke-choked prison the castle had become over the past se’nnight. Sick to death of books and needlework, she yearned to be out of doors picking flowers or stalking rabbits, but could do neither of those things until she’d replaced the broken lace on her boots.

Her abigail, as usual, was nowhere to be found, so Maggie had ventured below stairs to apply to the housekeeper for aid. To Maggie’s vexation, Mrs. McQueen was nowhere to be found, either, and, too impatient to await her return, the young ducal ward elected to hunt for the needed item herself.

Now, she was where she should not be and someone was coming. Two someones, actually. If they caught her here, she’d be punished the way she’d been several years past when she’d broken the vase belonging to the duke’s mother. The old duke, the young duke’s late father, had tanned her hide so severely she hadn’t been able to sit down for a full week without wincing.

Fear pumped through Maggie’s veins as the larksome duet drew nearer. The lady was her absent abigail. The gentleman’s laughter she could not place. The duchy employed several male servants—footmen, a valet, a coachman, a gardener, and a handful of strapping young grooms–but the baritone tenor was unlike any of theirs. Neither was it the laugh of the duke’s younger brother, who’d been blessed with a cheerful disposition. The sounds of Hugh’s gaiety echoed so often through the castle’s corridors, she would have known it anywhere.

There was, however, one gentleman residing at Balloch who’d never laughed within range of her hearing. Once or twice, he’d deigned to grace her with a smile—and, Lord bless her—what a thing of beauty ‘twas to behold. Like the sun breaking through the clouds on a gloomy day. The merest glimpse made her bones feel like they were made from tallow. What a pity he was so seldom cheerful.

The laughter grew still louder. As the door opened wider, panic erupted in Maggie’s chest. She could not let them find her snooping like a common thief. Pulse racing, she closed the French doors betwixt closet and room as swiftly and quietly as circumstances permitted.

As luck would have it, the door’s linen curtains were arranged in such a way as to allow her to see into the room without being observed. The man came in first.

Her breath caught when she saw ‘twas none other than the duke himself—in naught but his kilt and shirtsleeves!

Mistress Honeywell, her lady’s maid, soon followed in her usual tartan dress but sans shoes.
Why were they both half undressed? What could they be about?

Maggie bit her lip as she watched in breathless silence.

After locking the door, the duke dropped the key into his sporran and led Mistress Honeywell to a long sofa facing the closet. Maggie’s heart leapt into her throat. She drew back and held her breath. If he saw her, she was doomed.

The maid sat quietly whilst he filled the antimonial cup with Mrs. McQueen’s medicinal whisky. Was the duke ill perchance?

His grace returned to the sofa and handed Mistress Honeywell the whisky. Was it the maid who’d taken ill? If so, why apply to the duke for physick? Maggie could not reason it out.

He stood over the maid as she drank the whisky. Since his back was to the closet, Maggie could not see what passed between them. After a spell, Mistress Honeywell rose and they turned to face one another, providing a perfect view of their full-length profiles.

Maggie expected them to embrace, but they did not.

Instead, Mistress Honeywell set about unlacing her bodice whilst he watched with rapt interest.

The maid wore no stays, but clearly had no need of their support. Her paps, though large, stood as proud and sure as a pair of cockerels.

When Mistress Honeywell was down to her shift, the duke stepped forward, untied the neckline drawstring, and reached inside with both hands.

Maggie swallowed a gasp when he seized both the maid’s breasts and proceeded to knead them like dough. Mistress Honeywell, astonishingly enough, offered no reproach. She only tipped back her head, parted her lips, and emitted a breathy sigh.

How could she abide, let alone enjoy, such exploitation? If a man ever treated Maggie thusly, she’d slap him so hard he’d see stars for a week!

The duke swept the shift off the maid’s shoulders. The thin garment slipped down her body to her ankles. To Maggie’s astonishment, Mistress Honeywell appeared to be unashamed–either by her nudity or his grace’s covetous stares.

By the light of Our Lady’s brow! Such impiety was not to be borne. How could they be so wicked? As Roman Catholics, both had to know what they were doing was sinful.

Here’s a wee bit about the author:

Nina Mason is a hopeful romantic with strong affinities for history, mythology, and the metaphysical. She strives to write the same kind of books she loves to read: those that entertain, edify, educate, and enlighten.

She has two books out at present: The Queen of Swords, a darkly erotic Scottish paranormal romance/urban fantasy, and The Tin Man, a political thriller.

Ms. Mason is currently at work on two new series': an erotic historical trilogy titled Royal Pains and a four-part erotic paranormal/fantasy series titled The Knights of Avalon. Devil in Duke’s Clothing is book one in Royal Pains. Starry Knight, book one in the Knights of Avalon will be released on August 4, 2015 by Lyrical/Kensington.

                                         BOOK BLURB

When Supernatural Investigation Bureau agent Bluebell Kildare (a.k.a. Blue) arrives at the scene of the crime, it's obvious the grotesquely damaged body of the deceased teenage boy was caused by far more than a simple hit and run; and she vows to catch the killer. Using her innate sixth sense, Blue uncovers a powerful magical artifact nearby. She soon discovers it acts as a key to an ancient Grimoire that was instrumental in the creation of the Vampire breed and still holds the power to unravel the boundaries between Earth and the Plane of Fire.
Blue and her clever wolf Varg follow a trail that starts at the Cock and Bull Tap and leads all through the town of Crimson Hollow. Between being sidelined by a stalker who sticks to the shadows and chasing a suspect who vanishes in thin air, the case is getting complicated. If that isn't enough, Dark Vampire activity hits a record high, and hate crimes are increasing. However, it's Blue’s growing feelings for Jack Tanner, her sexy Daylight Vampire boss, that just might undo her.
While Blue searches for clues to nail the perpetrator, it seems someone else is conducting a search of their own. Who will find whom first?

Lilo Abernathy is a somewhat eccentric, deep-thinking, warm-hearted young woman of at least 43 years. She started out as a restaurant chain hostess and worked her way up to the exciting world of global mergers and acquisitions. She has enjoyed an on again/off again relationship with formal education and has been affectionately referred to as information hound. In the evenings, she fills her writing breaks by scanning the internet for answers to provocative questions, such as: "What causes diamonds to be formed in different colors?"
One thing that never changes is Lilo's ongoing love affair with books. A born bibliophile, by age ten she finished all the children's books in the house and started devouring the adult section. By age 15, she was working her way through grocery store book aisles and libraries. Just as Picasso had his blue period, Lilo had her own periods of readership--urban fantasy, paranormal romance, Gothic novels, etc. Now she's planning on creating a bookshelf for you to enjoy.
